JAMSS Business Interests

From the International Space Station to the Moon and Mars.
JAMSS continues to explore new frontiers.

JAMSS’s first business area is providing a broad range of technical services for the operation and utilization of ISS (International Space Station)/ JEM (Japanese Experiment Module”Kibo”); these include ground-based preparations, training, verification, on-orbit operations and return of the benefits to society. JAMSS also provides operations support for the HTV (H-IITransfer Vehicle), which delivers vital cargo and payloads to the ISS.
The second business area is to ensure safe development and operation of space systems and payloads.
JAMSS conducts technical evaluations of the the safety, reliability and maintainability of all Japanese equipment and payloads being transported to the ISS.
The third business area is the utilization of satellites. JAMSS develops and validates new methods of utilizing satellites in order to enrich the lifestyles of humanity and to protect from disasters and other potential problems.
The fourth business area is space business development, primarily promoting the use of space by the private sector. JAMSS is pursuing completely new methods of exploiting space in a manner that enables the carefree participation of industry and private citizens.
Finally, JAMSS continues to develop and refine the technologies, knowhow and ideas indispensible for exploiting outer space and realizing deep-space exploration to the moon, Mars and beyond.
Utilization of Satellites
JAMSS develops leading-edge technologies that are indispensible for monitoring disasters and transmitting information in order to ensure that the satellites are utilized to their fullest capacity to benefit humanity.
HTV(H-II Transfer Vehicle)
JAMSS provides support for analysis of payloads to be carried to space in the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV).
Space Hotel
A manned space technology
nurtured by JAMSS is proving
extremely useful in optimizing the
design of space hotels.
Kibo (International Space Station)
So that astronauts can comfortably and efficiently do their work in Kibo on the ISS, JAMSS works at the Tsukuba Space Center in the areas of safety, maintenance and logistics, experiment preparation, and international coordination.
 
Space Travel
JAMSS is playing a pioneering role in the emerging field of space tourism by participating in projects to improve the performance of spacecraft and to ensure that everything is in place for the total comfort of travelers.
 
Support for Spacecraft Development
Providing assessments in the areas of safety, reliability and maintainability, while also supporting the development of spacecraft and equipment.
 
Tsukuba Space Center
Conducting flight operations for Kibo on a 24/7 basis and training astronauts, as well as preparing experiments and analyzing their results.
 
Tanegashima Space Center
Supporting JAXA in areas such as payload integration and launch site safety assessments.
