Comprehensive Evaluation of Safety and Reliability
Trivial incidents on the earth might lead to life-threatening accidents if occurred in space. SPAD is responsible for evaluating and reviewing safety of hardware/software, fixtures, materials and associated operations to prevent on-orbit accidents from occurring in consideration of all conceivable hazards such as fire, decompression and atmospheric contamination inside the International Space Station. Since the foundation of JAMSS, SPAD has been accumulating and improving knowledge and know-hows to assure safety and reliability associated with space activities in corporation with NASA and JAXA. SPAD maintains and implements the world’s highest standards for safety and reliability assurance and keeps seeking other applications of this capability and experience such as medical equipment, nuclear power plants and transportation systems. In addition, SPAD provides safety assurance education.
