During the most of Increment 70, JAXA astronaut Satoshi Furukawa stayed onboard the ISS. JAXA Lead Flight Directors led the close communications between astronauts and JEM Flight Control Team on the ground to overcome challenging situations that were not straightforward. This led successful completion of the missions in the Increment 70. This achievement has been recognized by NASA, leading to this award.

This award from NASA showed that JAMSS exerts our presence as a main contractor of JEM operation. We will continue to expand our activities and contribute to the field of manned space by leveraging the experience and knowledge we have gained through long-term operations of the International Space Station.

* The JSC Superior Achievement Award is a periodic award given by NASA, including international partners, to members who have made significant contributions to missions.
**”Increment” is a unit of period for ISS operations. Increment 70 is about 6 months from 28 Sep 2023 to 6 Apr 2024.
